This week: 9/18/17

This week didn't turn out to be a great week for preschool, but it was still busy and full of progress, which is whats important right!?

Monday we woke up and i realized my plan to go to school in the afternoons was going to fall through this week. I hadn't yet looked at my schedule and when i did, we had an appointment on EVERYDAY this week in the afternoon!

Monday i had a OB appointment. But Tuesday we got up early and made it to school by 8am. We had a successful 2 hours of play and learning :) I'm happy with that. Then we went home napped, had lunch, and went to Physical Therapy. Wednesday we had our first Speech Therapy (last week we had the evaluation). The appointment was at 11:15am, so after about 20 minutes of nap she wasn't real thrilled but she did better than I expected. So far Speech is good, I'm glad we started. Her communication skills really need that extra boost and Mama needs the extra help so i know how to better help her. Im thinking part of the struggle with the communication is definitely effected by her vision, since eye contact is so important for understand feeling and expression etc. Thursday (today) we went out before physical therapy to see how she would do having a big break from crawling and moving around too much before hand, it was great! She walked a good distanced with a walker and then was standing and bouncing a ball! I was very impressed and SO proud! :) :) :) She showed how hard she worked when she fell asleep on our drive home, she almost never sleeps in the afternoon. Tomorrow is Friday and we have a visit from Physical Therapy from Early on that visit us at home, and she will be coming with a vision specialist to assess Karina and her vision to give us a better idea of how she sees and how she will best learn.

Phew! Busy week and she didn't even let the cold she caught mid-week slow her down <3. She such a strong baby. I learn from her everyday, its ok for things to happen in their own time, and as much as us mom's try to plan, organize and control everything I'm noticing more and more that things are just going to turn out how they are meant to, out of your control. But usually turn out better and teach you much more along the way than the original plan ;).
